“I had such an amazing experience at the Kyoto Tea Museum tea grinding session! From start to finish, the staff were welcoming and patient, guiding us through each step of the process with clear explanations and genuine enthusiasm. I especially enjoyed learning about the history and importance of matcha in Japanese culture before trying my hand at grinding the tea leaves myself — it was both relaxing and surprisingly fun! The setup was beautiful and peaceful, making it easy to really focus and enjoy the moment. By the end, I had made some delicious matcha of my own, and it tasted even better knowing how much care and tradition goes…”

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 149 reviews · from $83

Kyoto samurai sword training plus museum ticket and ninja star throwing, with flexible start times and a safe blunt replica experience.

“We arrived about 20 min early so they rushed us upstairs to complete our “training”. It was nice (hence 3 stars) as it was just us, but it was so short and rushed I do wonder if we missed what the larger class did? We put on outfits, and were told how to hold a d swing the fake sword. Then we sat and were given instructions on how to use the real one. We each got 2 turns to swing and cut the bat. That was it. We changed and went downstairs where our “group” (others for our time slot) were trying on the gun costumes and taking photos.…”

Make a Damascus kitchen knife in Seki, test it on fresh vegetables, tour sword museums, and enjoy Japanese lunch for $322.

“Getting to take part in the assembly process is great fun, getting to see the knife take shape is proper wicked! They give a very quality knife at the end and throw a chopping board in for us as well. Whilst I wouldn’t consider it a knife museum. The guy’s been making knives his whole life, the shop is very impressive. The Guys did a great job. Please note the process is quite lengthy so you may run over the timelines quoted.”
